A new product that resembles a military uniform… Jacket 6.49 million won, pants 3.83 million won
Tape bracelets, towel skirts, potato chip clutches, etc. come to mind.

Following the towel skirt and tape bracelet, this time it is a frog military uniform. Balenciaga has unveiled a jacket and pants that resemble past Korean military combat uniforms. This product resembles the actual combat uniform by removing the name tag and unit mark of the ‘Frog Military Uniform’, which disappeared into history in 2014.

When Balenciaga’s new jacket and pants were released, there were continued reviews that they were similar to the Korean military combat uniform. Immediately after the release, a post saying, “I have to wear this new Balenciaga product and go to the reserves” became a hot topic on social networking services (SNS).

In addition, “I should call it Balenciaga”, “They say you earn 10 million won if you go to the military these days, and it’s true”, “I couldn’t earn it because I’m digital”, “It reminds me of guerrilla clothing”, “Korean men are automatically fashion people”, etc. There were opinions.

This is not the first time that a product released by Balenciaga has become a hot topic. Previously, Balenciaga introduced a transparent tape-shaped bracelet as a new product in the 2024 fall/winter collection. At first glance, this product looks like a commonly seen transparent tape, but the Balenciaga logo is engraved on the inside and the word adhesive is written on it.

In addition, fashion products inspired by products commonly seen in everyday life, such as garbage bag-shaped pouches, towel-shaped skirts, and potato chip snack bag-shaped clutch bags, also attracted attention.

The 2022 fall/winter collection attracted attention by introducing the ‘world’s most expensive garbage bag.’ The ‘Trash Pouch’, known to be inspired by the growing up period of Georgian creative director Demna Gvasalia, attracted attention for its design similar to a garbage bag. At the time, the trash pouch made of cowhide leather was released for about $1,890 (about 2.48 million won).

In the same year, Balenciaga released ‘Paris Sneakers’, dirty and worn-out sneakers priced at $1,850 (approximately 2.43 million won) and were criticized as ‘poverty cosplay’.

The ‘Potato Chip Clutch Bag’ that appeared in the 2023 Summer Collection was priced at $1,800 (about 2.57 million won). This clutch bag, which is printed with the bag design of the famous American potato chip brand ‘Lays’, was released in two versions: the original scent and the spicy ‘Balenciaga’ scent. Both products have the Balenciaga brand logo engraved on the front, and the lining used inside reproduces the unique appearance of potato chips.
