Broadcaster Yoo Young-jae, who was suspected of sexual harassment after divorcing actress Seon Woo Eun-sook, was hospitalized in a psychiatric hospital.

On the 26th, The Fact reported that Yoo Young-jae was admitted to a psychiatric hospital in the metropolitan area this morning, and revealed footage of him entering the hospital. It was reported that Yoo Young-jae showed symptoms of severe depression and would be hospitalized for treatment.

Prior to being admitted to the hospital, Yoo Young-jae is known to have searched for words suggesting extreme choices, such as ‘lightning bullet’, on a portal. Accordingly, it is said that he went to the hospital and received treatment at the recommendation of his acquaintances.

However, even if he is admitted to a mental hospital, legal proceedings regarding allegations of sexual harassment are expected to proceed as planned. Lawyer Noh Jong-eon of the Existence Law Firm, the legal representative for Seonwoo Eun-sook, said, “Legal procedures will continue as scheduled,” and “It does not appear that receiving treatment at a mental hospital will have an impact on the charges themselves.”

Yoo Young-jae and Seonwoo Eun-sook became a legal couple after registering their marriage in October 2022, but divorced after one year and six months of marriage. Afterwards, Seonwoo Eunsuk claimed that Yoo Youngjae was not a ‘remarriage’ but a ‘third marriage’ and that she had deceived him. She also said that she appointed a legal representative and filed a complaint to hold Yoo Young-jae responsible for sexually harassing Seon Woo Eun-sook’s biological sister.

Yoo Young-jae later expressed his resentment on his YouTube channel, saying, “Sexual harassment was framed as a punishment that would not be erased even after death.”

Next, regarding the fact that he hid the fact of his remarriage when he married Seonwoo Eunsuk, he explained, “The day I first met Seonwoo Eunsuk, I revealed that I had been married twice and decided not to make an issue about my past before marriage.”

In addition, regarding the suspicion that he hid his common-law marriage and got married three times, he expressed his innocence, saying, “I wouldn’t say that I didn’t meet the opposite sex for a long time after divorcing twice, but cohabitation, common-law marriage, and two-legged relationships are groundless stories.”

However, regarding the content, lawyer Noh Jong-eon said, “We have a transcript in which Yoo Young-jae admits to sexual harassment and apologizes.” Regarding Yoo Young-jae’s claim that Seonwoo Eun-sook framed her as sexual harassment, she criticized Yoo Young-jae, saying, “She does not recognize it as molestation.”
