Director Hong Sang-soo attended the 76th Cannes International Film Festival with actor Ki Joo-bong.
On the afternoon of the 25th (local time), the official screening of ‘Our Day’ was held at the Cancroisette Theater in southern France. ‘Our Day’ was selected as the closing film for Director’s Week.
In ‘Our Day’, Hong Sang-soo’s lover, Kim Min-hee, starred in the lead role. The two developed into lovers through the movie ‘Right Now, Wrong Then’ released in 2015 and admitted their devotion in 2017. Cannes Director’s Week executive director Julien Reggie said, “The film naturally deals with all the joys of life. It was really beautiful to see Kim Min-hee talking about how she became a true actress.”
In addition to Minhee Kim, Seonmi Song, Miso Park, Seongguk Ha, Seungyoon Kim, and Joobong Ki also appear in ‘Our Day’. Hong Sang-soo, who visited Cannes, greeted the audience with Ki Joo-bong on stage before the screening of the film. It is said that the main character, Kim Min-hee, did not appear. Hong Sang-soo and Kim Min-hee stood on the red carpet at the Cannes International Film Festival together in the 2017 film ‘After that’.
