Won Bin, TOP advertising contract ends at the end of January
Damaged by the agency’s immediate reply, “Confirmation is needed”
Maxim model also replaced Lee Na-young with Park Bo-young
Dongseo Food “TOP successor model not yet determined”
“If you were just coffee, this person would be my coffee.”
This line, which appeared in Maxim’s TOP love triangle advertisement released in 2010, was talked about as a buzzword among the public at the time and caused a great stir.
According to the entertainment industry on the 26th, Won Bin’s contract as a top advertising model for Maxim recently ended. The day before, news broke that his wife and actress Lee Na-young’s contract with Maxim Mocha Gold had ended.
The model for Dongseo Foods’ ‘Maxim Mocha Gold’, Korea’s representative coffee mix, was recently replaced by Park Bo-young. Lee Na-young has been working as a Maxim Mocha Gold model for 24 years.
Since 2008, Won Bin has worked with top domestic actresses such as Shin Min-ah, Yoo In-na, Shin Hyun-bin, and Cha Ye-ryun, and has been Maxim’s top long-running model for about 16 years.
According to an official, it was confirmed that Won Bin’s advertising contract with Maxim TOP ended at the end of January.
Maxim TOP stands for ‘The Original Passion for coffee’ and is a rich espresso coffee that is easy to enjoy using 100% Arabica beans, the highest quality coffee beans, using Dongsuh Food’s know-how, pressure extraction method.
New face Park Bo-young’s Mocha Gold commercial was filmed last month. Dongseo Foods is famous for being a brand that maintains models for a long time. Ahn Seong-gi signed a contract with Dongseo Foods in 1983 and has worked as a model for all brands including instant coffee and canned coffee, setting a record for the longest-serving model in Korea.
Unlike Lee Na-young, who appeared in a drama in 2019 after a long hiatus after marriage, Won Bin has not done any work since the 2010 movie ‘The Man From Nowhere’, raising questions. There have been rumors that she was discussed casting for several works, but in the end, it ended up not happening, and she can not be seen except in advertisements, so she is rarely mentioned even among her fans.
Eden Nine, Won Bin and Lee Na-young’s agency, declined to comment on inquiries regarding the termination of Won Bin’s contract, saying, “Confirmation is necessary.” However, an official from Dongseo Foods told Hankyung.com, “It is true that the contract with Won Bin for the Maxim TOP advertisement has ended. There is currently nothing decided regarding the follow-up Maxim TOP advertisement.”
Coincidentally, when Won Bin and Lee Na-young withdrew from the coffee advertisement in which they had been acting as long-running models, fans expressed their anticipation that they would now like to meet each other in a new work.
