Civil, government, and academic officials in the Honam region are working together to identify the reality and types of intelligent cyber attacks and prepare countermeasures.

Jeonnam Province announced on the 19th that it will hold the ‘2023 4th Honam Cyber ​​Security Conference’ at Mokpo University’s Namak Campus from 10 a.m. on the 22nd.

This competition, which marks its 4th anniversary this year, is co-hosted by Jeonnam Province, the Honam Branch of the Korea Information Security Association, Korea Electric Power Corporation, Korea Internet & Security Agency, and the National Intelligence Service Branch, and is participated by over 30 organizations including national and public institutions, companies, and universities, including the Korea Creative Content Agency. The conference holds a fall academic conference to present research papers in the information security field. In order to foster excellent local cybersecurity personnel, we also operate a web vulnerability contest for middle and high school students and college students, a breach response and analysis contest to strengthen college students’ practical skills, and a Honam youth hacking camp in which middle and high school students participate. .

Winners in each field will be awarded a total of 11 million won in prize money, along with the Jeonnam Provincial Governor’s Award and the Head of Institution’s Award.
