(Incheon = Yonhap News) Reporter Hong Hyeon-gi = Regarding the father and daughter who were found dead in their villa in Incheon, the police are investigating the possibility that the father murdered his 5-year-old daughter.
According to the Incheon Namdong Police Station on the 19th, a man in his 60s, Mr. A, and his daughter B (5 years old) were found dead at around 9:45 am on the 17th in a house in Namdong-gu, Incheon.
After receiving a report from Mr. A’s family, who said, “We received a text message from Mr. A suggesting an extreme choice,” the police responded to the scene and confirmed their deaths.
At the scene, items believed to have been used by Mr. A in his extreme decision were found, but no visible traces of trauma were found on Ms. B’s body.
As a result of the investigation, it was determined that Mr. A met a foreign woman, Ms. C, abroad a few years ago, gave birth to Miss B, and lived separately before registering their marriage in February of last year.
Ms. C entered the country in March of last year and lived with Ms. A, but as they began to separate last June, her father, A, took care of her daughter on weekends, and her mother, C, took care of her daughter on weekdays.
After separation, Ms. C filed a complaint against Ms. A to the police, saying, “I was assaulted and threatened by my husband.”
As a result of the investigation, the police determined that there were circumstances in which Mr. A had committed violence, and charged him with violating the Special Act on the Punishment of Domestic Violence Crimes. Last July, the police forwarded the case to the prosecution as a ‘home protection case’ for which the court issued a protective order.
It is reported that Mr. A sent a text message to Mr. C right before he was found dead on the 17th, saying, “You are killing me and my daughter,” implying an extreme choice.
The police requested an autopsy from the National Institute of Forensic Science to determine the cause of death of Mr. A and his wife.
The police are investigating the possibility that Mr. A made an extreme choice after murdering Ms. B.
A police official said, “It has been confirmed that Ms. B attended kindergarten without missing a regular day,” and added, “We are investigating while keeping various possibilities open.”
