South Chungcheong Governor Kim Tae-heum held a meeting with foreign-invested companies in the province on the 21st and announced that he would continue to provide support for foreign-invested companies.

Representatives of 20 foreign-invested companies related to secondary batteries and semiconductors, including Umicore and Hanker Technology, attended the meeting held in Asan on this day.

Governor Kim said, “The success story of foreign-invested companies is the success of South Chungcheong Province,” and promised, “We will actively help foreign-invested companies that invested in South Chungcheong Province with faith in its potential to become the best companies in the world.”

He emphasized, “Just as we operated free shuttle buses to the Foreign Investment Corporation for the first time in the country, we will properly support the policies necessary for doing business.”

Governor Kim, who claims to be ‘Chungcheongnam-do’s No. 1 salesman’, achieved the achievement of attracting foreign investment worth USD 2.5 billion (KRW 3.3416 trillion) from 20 world-class companies, including Hankook and Linde, during his tenure, and KRW 14 trillion from 106 domestic companies. It has led an investment of 400 billion won and is expected to exceed 18 trillion won in just 16 months.

Last month, the company attempted to attract foreign investment by holding a European investment briefing session for 200 European businesspeople in Frankfurt, Germany.
