Establishment of development plan and support for defense-related small and medium-sized venture companies

(Chuncheon = Yonhap News) Reporter Lee Hae-yong = Gangwon-do held a launching ceremony for the Provincial Defense Industry Council at the Sejong Hotel in Chuncheon on the 21st.

The province formed a council with 18 people recommended from the Army, Navy, Air Force, universities, and research institutes.

The term of office for the 15 appointed members is until November 20, 2025.

The council is responsible for establishing and promoting the province’s defense industry development plan and fostering and supporting defense-related small and medium-sized venture businesses in the province.

At this event, five types of drones operated by the Army’s 2nd Corps were showcased.

Governor Kim Jin-tae said, “Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province has contributed to national security by complying with military regulations, and in the future, we want to contribute by fostering a cutting-edge defense industry.” He added, “We will show active interest and cooperation so that this challenge can be pursued successfully.” “I ask you to do so,” he said.
