Finding ways to solve community problems

The Gyeonggi-do Public Interest Activities Support Center announced on the 20th that it will be recruiting participating companies until the 29th for the ‘1 Company-1 Group Public Interest Partnership Campaign’, in which companies and public interest groups in northern Gyeonggi Province work together to find solutions to local social problems.

The Gyeonggi-do Public Interest Activities Support Center is an intermediate support organization established jointly by the province and civil society to support the public interest activities of provincial residents and public interest organizations. The purpose is to create a sustainable Gyeonggi-do by activating the public interest activities of residents and to create an environment in which various social problems can be solved through the participation of residents.

This campaign is a project to revitalize public interest activities in northern Gyeonggi Province, and aims to solve regional problems and create social value through various linkage activities with small and medium-sized businesses in northern Gyeonggi Province and public interest groups. Last year, ‘Korea Miracle People Co., Ltd. (company)’ and ‘Gyeonggi-Central North Environmental Movement Federation Pocheon Center (group)’ joined forces to purify reservoirs in the region, and the remaining water produced by ‘Pomini (company)’ There is a case where ‘Yangju YMCA (organization)’, which received thread support, made bracelets at the resource circulation market.

Companies wishing to participate can fill out the application form posted on the public interest activity support center website notice and submit it by e-mail on the 29th.

After selecting a total of 5 companies, the selection of participating organizations will be completed through a public contest in March, and the project will be promoted by linking northern companies and public interest groups.

The final selected companies will receive up to three sessions of social value indicator (SVI) training and consulting and training to promote environmental, social, and transparent management (ESG).

Yoo Myeong-hwa, head of the Provincial Public Interest Activities Support Center, said, “I hope that the 1 Company-1 Group Public Interest Partnership Campaign will serve as an opportunity for companies to take interest in local issues and create social value together with public interest groups.” He added, “We ask for a lot of interest from companies in northern Gyeonggi Province.” “I give it to you,” he said.
