For 61 days from April 22nd to June 21st, Goryeong-gun will participate in the ‘2024 Korea Safety Conversion Intensive Safety Inspection’ to realize a safer Republic of Korea with the people.

The Republic of Korea’s safety management intensive safety inspection is a national social safety movement in which central ministries, local governments, and citizens participate together to prevent disasters and increase safety awareness of all citizens by examining the safety management status of our society.

Goryeong-gun plans to conduct inspections at 131 locations, including Goryeong Yeongsaeng Hospital, this year with the participation of experts in fields such as architecture, firefighting, electricity, and civil engineering. In 2023, 129 locations were inspected and repair, reinforcement, and local corrections were completed for 38 facilities, including Goryeong Yeongsaeng Hospital.

In addition, through the cooperation of the Senior Education Support Office, home self-inspection checklists will be distributed to all elementary and middle school students in the region, and self-inspection checklists for multi-use facilities such as restaurants and bathhouses will be distributed so that residents can directly exercise autonomy in their own houses and facilities. Inspections will be encouraged.

In addition, through the ‘Resident Inspection Application System’, a system is being implemented in which when residents directly request an inspection of facilities that are concerned about risk, a safety inspection is conducted by a relevant expert and the results are notified. This can be done through the town/myeon office. This is possible.

Based on the results of this inspection, Goryeong-gun plans to establish a systematic management system according to the level of risk by immediately taking corrective action for minor issues and implementing thorough follow-up measures that prioritize safety, such as emergency repairs, reinforcement, or use restrictions when major defects occur.

An official from Goryeong-gun said, “This intensive safety inspection was designed to eliminate hazards in advance by systematically inspecting and managing dangerous facilities around the residents’ lives. We expect that it will greatly contribute to ensuring the safety of the residents, and the safety of the residents will continue to be our top priority.” “I will put in a lot of effort,” he said.
