[시티저널=허송빈 기자] The 2024 Korea Science Festival, where people can enjoy the achievements of scientific research and development (R&D) and communicate through science, will be held in the Daejeon Expo Citizen’s Square and Expo Science Park from the 25th to the 28th of this month.

This festival, jointly hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and Daejeon City, is Korea’s representative science festival celebrating its 28th anniversary this year. It is a combination of the Korea Science Festival, which focuses on science and technology cultural experiences, and the Korea Science and Technology Daejeon, which focuses on exhibitions of national strategic technology research achievements. You can enjoy a richer program every year.

This festival opens with the theme ‘The World’s Largest Laboratory’, meaning that the moment we look at the world with curiosity, we all become inquiring scientists and our daily lives are closely related to science.

The science festival program creates and operates five spaces for each age and type, including a science museum, science lounge, science theme park, science laboratory, and science talk talk, so that all citizens, from children to adults, can enjoy.

First of all, the Science Museum is a space dedicated to the 2024 Korea Science and Technology Exhibition, where you can see at a glance cutting-edge technologies and products from representative companies in 12 national strategic technology fields such as space, quantum, and artificial intelligence, and introduces the latest R&D research results of government-funded research institutes. .

The Science Lounge utilizes the circular plaza of the Hanbat Arboretum to create special rest areas such as a science picnic, a science story with 300 pandas, and a science gallery so that visitors can spend time healing and recharging.

The science theme park is a space full of things to enjoy, such as programs exclusively for adults and couples, a laser show using the night view, a night market with science performances, a science cafe, and a science library.

The science laboratory creates an outdoor space as a youth-only laboratory and operates a variety of science and technology cultural experience programs such as a giant zero gravity experience device, a science room escape, and an open stage, as well as creative foundations, science museums, and research institutes.

Science Talk Talk utilized the main stage to provide lectures and performance programs throughout the event, such as lectures by star scientists, science musicals, and science magic concerts, creating a time for communication between science and the public.
