Applications for issuance of the ‘THE Gyeonggi Pass’, which Gyeonggi residents can use on public transportation across the country, began on the 24th.

If you receive The Gyeonggi Pass card, you can use it from the 1st of next month.

The Gyeonggi Pass is a transportation service that adds Gyeonggi-do’s unique benefits to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s K-Pass. If you use public transportation more than 15 times a month, your public transportation expenses will be refunded every month.

The refund rate is 30% for young people, 20% for the general public, and 53% for low-income people, but Gyeonggi Province has expanded the standard for young people to ages 19 to 39, and the limit of 60 times a month is unlimited. Because it is a refund method, if you register only once, you do not need to recharge every month.

The Gyeonggi Pass can be used on all public transportation methods nationwide, including metropolitan buses, Shinbundang Line, and GTX (Global Rapid Transit). However, transportation that requires a separate ticket, such as express buses or KTX, is excluded.

Residents who want to use the Gyeonggi Pass can visit the K-Pass website or use cards from each credit card company (Shinhan, KB Kookmin, NH Nonghyup, Woori, Hana, Samsung, Hyundai, BC, IBK Industrial Bank of Korea, Gwangju Bank, K Bank, Joy of Idong, DGB Yu). After receiving a K-Pass exclusive card (credit/check card) through the Pay) website, you can sign up for membership on the K-Pass website from the 1st of the next month.

When signing up for membership, an address verification process is performed, and residents are automatically eligible for the Gyeonggi Pass benefits.

Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon applied for the card himself that day and began promoting it.

Governor Kim said, “Starting today, the application for the long-awaited The Gyeonggi Pass began, and I applied for the card first thing after work. I hope that residents of the province can also enjoy many benefits through the The Gyeonggi Pass.”
