In the April 10 general election proportional representation vote, the Fatherland Innovation Party received as many votes as the Democratic Party’s proportional satellite party. Representative Cho said to Representative Lee at the ‘General Election Victory Reporting Conference’ held in Jeonju, Jeollabuk-do on the 22nd, “It will be more powerful if we meet with opposition party representatives before the meeting with President Yoon and gather consensus.” He made a public proposal, saying, “Please lead the way by creating righteousness.” Representative Lee was asked to meet with representatives of other opposition parties, including the Fatherland Innovation Party, New Reform Party, New Future, and Progressive Party, to first coordinate the agenda to be presented at the meeting with the President.

Regarding this, Park Seong-joon, chief spokesperson of the Democratic Party, said at the National Assembly on the 24th, “This meeting is a meeting with (President Yoon’s) Democratic Party. “If the president wants to listen to the voices of (other) opposition parties, shouldn’t he have time to meet (separately) with the Fatherland Innovation Party and the New Reform Party,” he said, effectively rejecting Representative Cho’s proposal. Rep. Jeong Seong-ho, a pro-Myeong politician, said on the radio on the 23rd, “Representative Cho is not even a member of the National Assembly yet,” and added, “It is right for Representative Lee to just go and talk (with President Yoon). Meanwhile, as Seo Mi-hwa and Kim Yoon, who were elected as proportional representatives as members of the Democratic Party’s satellite party ‘Double Democratic Alliance’, decided to join the Democratic Party, it became difficult for the Fatherland Innovation Party to form a negotiating group in the 22nd National Assembly. Since the elected candidates Seo and Kim became candidates for the Democratic Alliance on the recommendation of ‘civil society’, they were able to leave the party and become independent when the Democratic Alliance was absorbed into the Democratic Party, and the Fatherland Innovation Party (12 seats) attracted them and other minor opposition parties such as the Progressive Party A joint negotiating group could be formed by creating 20 seats with a total of 6 members.
