An ordinance on traditional fermented foods has been proposed in Gyeongsangbuk-do for the first time in the country, attracting attention.

Chairman Lee Chun-woo said that the scientific efficacy of traditional fermented foods has been verified through numerous research results and that the reason for proposing this ordinance was to establish an institutional foundation for the development of the traditional fermented foods industry with high growth potential.

The main contents of the ordinance include the governor’s responsibilities for the development of the traditional fermented food industry in Gyeongsangbuk-do, establishment and implementation of a basic plan and implementation plan, composition and operation of a committee, support for traditional fermented food business, fact-finding survey, and budget support.
