The Provincial Council promotes 2 hours of ‘care support time’ per day for parents of 3rd and 4th grade elementary school students.
(Suwon = Yonhap News) Reporter Choi Chan-heung = Gyeonggi Province supports family-friendly companies that introduce ‘0.5 & 0.75 jobs’ to prevent career breaks due to childbirth and childcare.
0.5 jobs are 4 hours out of an 8-hour day, and 0.75 jobs are 6 hours, and the rest of the time is spent focusing on child care.
On the 25th, the province held the 8th Population Talk Committee and announced the ‘Measure to Support the Creation of a Family-Friendly Organizational Culture’ with the following contents.
Accordingly, companies that carry out 0.5&0.75 jobs will be supported with agency work allowances or incentives to hire replacement workers.
The Gyeonggi Job Foundation will introduce it on a pilot basis next month and select 20 private companies that have received family-friendly certification to operate it in the second half of the year.
We are also implementing the ‘4·6·1 Childcare Support Work System’, which involves coming to work 4 days a week, working 6 hours a day, and working from home one day.
It is planned to be implemented by civil servants and public institutions starting next month, and then expanded to cities, counties and the private sector.
A special management fund of 20 billion won and a re-certification support fund of 2 million won will be created for family-friendly companies, and research services for local tax reduction benefits will also be promoted.
Incentive items for family-friendly companies will also be increased from 49 to 57 types.
In keeping with the provincial government, the Provincial Council will next week announce the amendment to the ‘Gyeonggi Provincial Council Civil Servant Service Ordinance’ proposed by Representative Yoo Kyung-hyeon (Democratic Party of Korea, Bucheon 7).
The amendment to the ordinance includes providing 2 hours of childcare support time per day for 12 months to provincial and provincial council officials who have children in the 3rd and 4th grades of elementary school.
In addition, the number of days of maternity protection leave during pregnancy was increased from 5 to 20 days, and parental leave was also expanded from ‘public officials with children under the age of 10’ to ‘public officials with children under the age of 10’.
