[경인매일=최승곤기자] The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education held the first talk of the Onpoom Parent Education Series for parents in the province at the Siheung Campus of Seoul National University on the 25th.

On-poom parent education is held every month on eight topics to develop parent capabilities, and is aimed at understanding the role of parents, learning rights and responsibilities for children’s education, and strengthening home education functions.

This training, which was conducted under the theme of ‘communication’, included a special lecture by Superintendent Lim and group discussion on each topic by the 200 parents’ association executives who attended the site.

To minimize time and space constraints and increase parent education participation rates, real-time YouTube broadcasting was conducted so that parents who were unable to attend on-site could also participate in the education.

Parents’ association executives who attended the site through prior application discussed the six key school education areas of ‘reading education, culture and arts education, edutech, career education, character education, and ecological education’ in order to explore the role of the parents’ association in supporting education at our school. discussed.

The Provincial Office of Education plans to reflect the contents of the discussion in the activities of the school parents’ association and continue to support it so that it can develop into an excellent example of parent education participation.

Superintendent Lim Tae-hee said, “It is difficult to provide all education in schools,” and added, “Shared schools with the local community outside of schools can fill in the gaps.”

He continued, “The most important educational resource in the region is parents with educational capabilities,” and asked, “Please join us for the growth and education of children.”

Lastly, he said, “Parents are valuable partners in education,” and “Let’s focus only on students.”
