This is the second death since the same city hall official died last month.
Recently, a civil servant from Gimpo City, Gyeonggi-do died after suffering from complaints, and another civil servant from the same city hall was found dead.
According to the Gimpo Police Station on the 25th, at 8:12 am on this day, a co-worker reported to 112 that Mr. A, a man in his 40s who is a public servant of Gimpo City, could not be contacted. The police who received the report found Mr. A dead in a car parked in the parking lot of a soccer stadium in Masan-dong, Gimpo-si at around 8:35 a.m. on this day. No suicide note was found in the vehicle.
It was discovered that Mr. A, who was usually in charge of work related to sports facilities, sent a text message to a fellow employee the evening before, saying, “I’m sorry for not being able to finish work.” The police are investigating the circumstances of Mr. A’s death with his colleagues and bereaved family members.
A police official said, “We are investigating as there is no suspicion of crime,” and added, “The circumstances that Mr. A suffered from civil complaints have not been confirmed so far, but we plan to continue further investigation.”
Previously, on the 5th of last month, Mr. B (37), a Grade 9 civil servant in Gimpo City who had been suffering from complaints, was found dead in a vehicle. At the time, he received a complaint due to traffic congestion related to road digging repair work, and his personal information was also made public on a local online cafe.
