Foret (CEO Kim Jong-moon), a food waste disposer specialist company, won the grand prize in the innovative food waste disposer category for the third consecutive year at the Money Today ‘2024 Korea Innovation Awards’ held at the Korea Press Center in Jung-gu, Seoul on the 25th.

The Korea Innovation Awards is an event established to recognize and encourage the contributions of innovative companies that have contributed to the domestic economy and industrial development by selecting companies that have grown through technological and management innovation even in difficult economic conditions.

‘Ecoop (product name)’, which Foret is introducing, is the first product to combine AI and IoT technology to reduce food waste by up to 90% through grinding and drying. It measures the weight before and after food processing and transmits it to the server to determine the amount of waste discharge and By implementing the world’s first eFMS (ecop Foodwaste Management System – a public and consumer circulation ecosystem system using data-based smart food waste disposers) that automatically reports the amount of carbon reduction, we encourage consumers in each household to participate in the climate crisis. We are taking a step forward in ESG management.

Through its official website, Foret provides intuitive data on how much food waste emissions and reductions and carbon reductions are being reduced through food waste processors. This is analyzed as the effect of reducing 15 tons of food waste per year from 2022. In addition to growing its own brand, it seeks to expand the sales channels of its partners (distributors) through ODM, focuses on improving its technology and zero defect rate, and is currently leading the food waste disposer market with upgraded quality, leading to consumer satisfaction.

Last year, we successfully completed the Wadiz funding project with the launch of Korea’s first compact size 2L, and based on this, signed an exclusive supply contract worth 17 billion won with AtHome, a home life solution company, to supply Minix food waste disposer ‘The Flender’. . This model not only exceeded KRW 10 billion in sales within 6 months of its launch, but also predicted sales of up to KRW 70 billion, demonstrating its position as a specialty mini home appliance brand.

Foret is currently continuing its sensational popularity by expanding its sales channels not only in the domestic market but also in overseas markets. As food waste disposal is emerging as a global issue and global warming, Foret is currently testing for entry into the global market by sampling in the United States, Europe, and other countries, starting with the recent Paris Agreement, in order to move toward an eco-friendly future.

Kim Jong-moon, CEO of Foret, said, “We believe that food waste is a public good. Based on our long-standing know-how and independent technology in the food waste disposal field, we will continue to strive to develop food waste disposal products that are good for consumers and can also leave a good environment for future generations.”
