Yeongdong-gun, North Chungcheong Province, will hold the 13th Korea Wine Festival from the 24th of next month.

Yeongdong-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do, the ‘home of Korean traditional music and fruit’, announced on the 26th that it will hold the 13th Korea Wine Festival for three days from the 24th to the 26th of next month at Hasang Parking Lot in Yeongdong-eup.

Yeongdong-gun is the center of the wine industry, accounting for 8% of the country’s grape market. Currently, 35 wineries produce over 300 types of wine. The wine tunnel and permanent wine store sell about 100 types of wine.

Yeongdong-gun has been fostering the wine industry since 1996. The Korea Wine Festival is also held every year. In addition, it is contributing to revitalizing the tourism industry by operating the Yeongdong Wine Tunnel, Korean traditional music wine train, and visiting brewery.

At the wine tasting event, if you purchase a wine glass for 3,000 won, you can taste unlimited wines from over 40 wineries across the country, including Yeongdong-gun. Yeongdong-gun reported that they also prepared a variety of food, including cheese and steak that go well with wine.

We also operate a wine-related academy, including basic wine sommelier courses, vin show, and sangria experience. During the festival, we plan to do jazz busking in a garden-type performance hall using various flowers and trees.

During the festival, Yeongdong-gun will hold the 11th Korea Wine Awards awards ceremony. This year, 150 types of wine were submitted from 44 farms. Among them, a total of 18 excellent wines will be selected and awarded: 1 point from the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, 1 point from the Chungcheongbuk-do Governor Award, 1 point from the Rural Development Administration Director Award, 10 points from the Yeongdong-gun Prime Minister, and 5 points from the Yeongdong-gun Chairman’s Award.

Yeongdong-gun, North Chungcheong Province, will hold the 13th Korea Wine Festival from the 24th of next month.

Across from the festival site, the Hope Welfare Fair is held, which operates exhibition and promotional experience booths for local social welfare organizations. Shinheung Gallery near the festival site will hold an exhibition of works by local artist Maebong Ahn Byeong-chan.

Additionally, the Yeongdong Traditional Market Saturday market and cultural performance will be held on the 25th. On this day, Yeongdong-gun will hold a variety of events, including a free tasting of Jjajangmyeon for 400 people. On the 26th, the last day of the festival, in commemoration of Yeongdong County Citizens’ Day, a presentation of resident autonomy programs will be held in the morning and a commemoration event for Citizens’ Day in the afternoon.

The festival parking lot is Yeongdong Gymnasium (1.8km away). Yeongdong-gun operates a circular bus to the festival site to provide convenience for visitors. If you purchase wine worth 50,000 won or more at the festival site, you will receive a 5,000 won Yeongdong Love Gift Certificate.

A Yeongdong-gun official said, “It is good to visit places such as Yeongdong Wine Tunnel, Kwailnara Theme Park, Nangye Korean Traditional Music Experience Village, Geumgang Dulle-gil (around Songho Tourist Site), Wolryubong Dulle-gil (around Banyasa Temple), and Nogeun-ri Peace Park in conjunction with the festival site.” He recommended.
