According to South Jeolla Province on the 26th, Governor Kim Young-rok attended the Jeonnam European Tourism Information Session held in Europe for the first time on the 25th (local time). About 100 people from the local travel industry, influencers, and journalists attended the Jeonnam European tourism information session held at the Maritim Hotel in Berlin, Germany. In particular, a large number of Korean organizations and organizations active in Germany and Europe, including Minister to Germany Kwon Won-jik, Berlin Tourism Office representative Ralph Ostendorf, President of the Korean Federation of Germans Jeong Seong-gyu, and Kim Sang-geun, president of the Honam Community Association in Germany, attended, adding to the significance of the event.

This is the first Jeonnam tourism information session held in Europe. South Jeolla Province has made an ambitious effort to attract tourists not only from Germany but also from all over Europe. At the opening ceremony of the tourism information session, Governor Kim Young-rok said, “I think it is meaningful that the ‘Jeonnam Europe Tourism Information Session’ will be held in Berlin, a world-class city where history, culture, and art coexist.” He added, “Jeonnam will be hosting the Jeonnam World, a comprehensive tourism festival that will run for three years starting this year. “We have prepared a variety of festivals and interesting cultural and artistic content by holding a tourism and cultural exhibition, so we hope you will visit many times,” he said.

To promote Jeonnam tourism overseas, an inauguration ceremony was also held in Europe for the Global SNS Supporters, which have been operating since 2022. We gathered together Jeonnam tourism global SNS supporters active in Europe, encouraged their past activities, and ordered them to continue to be active in the future. They plan to intensively promote the Jeonnam World Tourism Culture Fair in the future. Currently, Jeonnam Province operates 170 global SNS supporters in 35 countries around the world. Starting with this information session, Jeonnam Province plans to develop and operate tourism products in cooperation with European professional travel agencies to attract tourists from European regions with high spending power, while also expanding benefits for individual tourists.
