(Korea Global News – Reporter Park So-yeon) The ‘Gyeonggi-do Road Occupation Permit and Road Occupancy Fee Imposition/Collection Ordinance’ proposed by Rep. Lee Hong-geun of the Gyeonggi Provincial Council (Democratic Party of Korea, Hwaseong 1) was proposed at the 374th extraordinary session of the Gyeonggi Provincial Council on the 26th. A final decision was made at the second plenary session, providing a basis for contributing to the expansion of new and renewable energy.

Rep. Lee Hong-geun explained the purpose of the motion, saying, “We have decided to revise the ordinance to provide a basis for contributing to the expansion of new and renewable energy for carbon neutrality and a just transition at the Gyeonggi-do level.”

He continued, “By specifying the standards for calculating occupancy fees for new and renewable energy-related facilities, it will become easier for residents to participate in projects,” and added, “It will contribute to the promotion of Gyeonggi Province’s carbon neutral policy.”

The ‘Gyeonggi-do Road Occupation Permit and Road Occupancy Fees, etc. Imposition and Collection Ordinance Draft Partial Amendment Ordinance’ clarifies the occupancy standards and occupancy fees for related facilities, including solar power generation facilities, solar power generation facilities, and wind power generation facilities, etc.

In addition, by reflecting the amendments to the ‘Enforcement Decree of the Road Act’, the deadline for paying road occupancy fees can be postponed in case of damage from a disaster, and the administrative procedures for returning occupancy fees have been specified.
