President Yoon Seok-yeol’s approval rating for his administration reached 24%.
According to a survey by Gallup Korea of 1,001 adult men and women nationwide from the 23rd to yesterday, 24% had a positive evaluation of President Yoon’s job performance, and 65% had a negative evaluation.
Although positive evaluations have increased since last week, when it hit 23%, the lowest since taking office, the approval rating has remained in the 20% range for two consecutive weeks.
Gallup Korea analyzed this week’s change in job evaluation figures as a movement within the margin of error that is difficult to give meaning to.
He explained that the 1 percentage point change in the job positivity rate is due to rounding to the bottom of the decimal point, and that the number of positive evaluators was 234 last week and 236 this week.
The reasons for the positive evaluation were ‘expansion of medical school students’ and ‘diplomacy’ at 10% each, followed by ‘overall doing well’ and ‘subjectivity and conviction’.
In the negative evaluation, ‘economy, people’s livelihood, and prices’ were the highest at 21%, followed by ‘communication and insufficient’ at 15%, and ‘arbitrary and one-sided’.
