Child abuse prevention and medical support business agreement with Gangwon-do and Gangneung Asan Hospital

(Chuncheon = Yonhap News) Reporter Lee Hae-yong = On the 26th, Gangwon-do signed an ‘agreement to prevent child abuse and establish a medical support system’ with Gangneung Asan Hospital and the Gangwon Association of Child Protection Agencies.

The agreement ceremony held at the main building of Gangneung Asan Hospital was attended by Governor Kim Jin-tae, Gangneung Asan Hospital President Yoo Chang-sik, and President of the Gangwon Child Protection Institutions Association Ko Ju-ae.

These organizations decided to join forces to share information on child abuse, establish a 24-hour emergency response system, determine and treat high-level abuse cases, and prevent and provide counseling to children who are victims of abuse.

Gangneung Asan Hospital was selected as the Metropolitan Sprout Guardian Hospital, a medical institution dedicated to child abuse, in October last year.

Governor Kim Jin-tae said, “I am very pleased that a hospital with expertise in child abuse has been established,” and added, “We will use this agreement ceremony as an opportunity to do our best to ensure the safety of children.”
