The ‘4th Korea Representative Festival Expo’, where you can see all the festivals held in domestic local governments in one place, started on the 26th at BEXCO in Busan with a three-day schedule.

The Korea Local Newspaper Association, in which 9 leading regional newspaper companies nationwide, including Gyeongnam Newspaper, was held this afternoon at the first exhibition hall of BEXCO in Busan with Korea Local Newspaper Association President Park Jin-oh (CEO of Gangwon Ilbo), Gyeongin Ilbo President Hong Jeong-pyo, Maeil Newspaper President Lee Dong-gwan, and Busan Ilbo President Kim Jin-soo. At the event, Park Jin-oh (CEO of Kangwon Ilbo), President of the Korea Local Newspaper Association, said, “Korea’s representative festival fair not only actively promotes spring festivals that have opened or are scheduled to start soon across the country, but also contributes to making the blueprint for regional tourism industry development a reality. He said, “I am confident that this fair will grow to a new level as a venue for exchange to seek new development directions for local festivals, even amidst internal and external adverse circumstances.”

In his congratulatory address, Busan Metropolitan City Executive Mayor Lee Jun-seung said, “I am very grateful that the entire Republic of Korea came together as a team to support and encourage us through the festival fair,” and added, “As the most important festivals among the 800 festivals in Korea are gathered in one place, the local government “I hope it will be an opportunity to learn and develop my strengths,” he said.

This expo, sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization and hosted by the Korea Exhibition Industry Institute Co., Ltd., includes 116 local governments and companies nationwide, including four cities and counties in Gyeongsangnam-do, including Gimhae, Miryang, Sancheong, Hamyang, and Hapcheon-gun. participated in this.


On the 26th, the first day of the event, festival promotions and events were held in each city and county. A buyer consultation session was held as B2B-Day for mutual exchange between participating local governments and festival-related companies. In particular, this buyer’s conference provided an opportunity to exchange information about promoting local festivals with the participation of influencers (YouTubers), and a special performance by the four-member girl group H1-KEY was also held.

In addition, mascot dolls from each city and county, including ‘Cheolgungi’ from Cheorwon, Gangwon-do, ‘Chambyeol’ from Seongju-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do, ‘Maryongi’ from Iksan-si, Jeollabuk-do, and ‘Byulkungi’ from Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do, were also introduced and gained popularity among tourists.

On the second day, the 27th, at 11 a.m., the Korea Best Festival Award will be held to recognize the local governments participating in the expo that have received the spotlight from many tourists. At 1 p.m., the mascot contest will be held, and at 2 p.m., the ‘Carry’ event for family visitors will be held. Wow Friends’ children’s character performances will be held.
