[경인매일=최승곤기자]Gyeonggi Provincial Council member Kim Tae-hyung held a meeting to revise the “Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Corporation’s Establishment and Operation Ordinance.”

This meeting, held on the 25th at the meeting room of the Gyeonggi Provincial Council, was held due to issues such as Gyeonggi Province’s insufficient management and supervision of the Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Corporation, lack of communication with the Provincial Council, and lack of review of the legality of changes in project content, method, and budget after the Provincial Council’s resolution. In order to resolve issues as issues continue to be raised in the committee, it was prepared to establish a basis for the establishment of a compliance monitoring committee with a compliance monitoring and control function and to discuss matters necessary for operation.

The meeting was attended by Rep. Kim Tae-hyung, who is preparing a representative motion for a partial revision ordinance, as well as officials from the Gyeonggi Provincial Council, Gyeonggi Province, and GH, and external experts, and related matters, including the purpose of revising the ordinance and legal review of each major content, were discussed in depth.

Most of the attendees agreed on the need and purpose of revising the ordinance to prevent various legal risks related to the performance of GH business by strengthening the guidance and supervision authority of Gyeonggi Province, but there were concerns about overlap with existing audit functions, efficiency of committee operation, and construction management. It was also suggested that a detailed discussion is needed on matters such as whether to limit the autonomy of .

In relation to this, Representative Kim Tae-hyung said, “In order to expand the management and supervision authority of the governor, the city government has allowed the establishment and operation of the compliance monitoring committee, and in order to smoothly promote large-scale development projects such as the 3rd new city development project, GH’s responsible and transparent management has been implemented. “The demand cannot be overemphasized,” he said, adding, “We will actively pursue in the future the establishment of a compliance monitoring committee to improve the housing welfare of Gyeonggi-do residents and to develop GH.”

In the future, Rep. Kim Tae-hyung plans to carry out drafting procedures such as legislative notice and legal review, and propose the “Partial Amendment Ordinance on the Establishment and Operation of the Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Corporation” in June.
