This symposium, under the theme of ‘The present and future of cultured meat production technology and industry,’ is leading the cultured meat industry, which is rapidly emerging as a future food due to the global food crisis, carbon neutrality, and animal welfare issues. It is designed to promote exchange. (※ Cultured meat is edible meat raised by supplying nutrients to stem cells of livestock (cow, chicken, etc.))

First of all, on the first day, as a keynote speaker, Peter Yu, program manager of the Asia-Pacific Society for Cellular Agriculture (APAC), presented the policies and technology development trends of leading countries in cultured meat and presented the cultured meat and cell cultured seafood industry. presented a vision for the future.

In addition, the symposium will share insights and insights on the future direction of the cultured meat project through presentations by scholars in the field of cell culture. Excellent projects such as cooperation programs and manpower training and discovery were introduced and development plans were discussed.

On the second day, domestic and foreign cultured meat development-related companies such as Thermo Fisher Scientific, Mosa Meat, Aleph farms, Neo Crema, Cheil Jedang, and Dana Green participated and introduced the latest technologies. Gyeongsangbuk-do has excellent cell culture technology infrastructure such as Yeungnam University, which has core cell culture technology, POSTECH (3D bioprinting), and Yeongcheon Center of the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology.

To secure new momentum in the cell culture industry based on these strengths, an international cell culture R&D town and cell culture and cultured meat production  export complex where related industry-university research can be jointly researched, and strategically linked with Andong  Pohang Biocluster We plan to focus on nurturing
