Current politicians and current ministers, including Won Hee-ryong, Chu Kyung-ho, and Park Min-sik, have directly or indirectly announced their intention to run in next year’s general election.
Rumors that Minister Han Dong-hoon, whose external activities have become more frequent, can run for general election are also gaining strength.
Reporter Gu Seung-eun covered the story.

Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Won Hee-ryong, Deputy Prime Minister for Economy and Finance Choo Kyung-ho, and Minister of Patriots and Veterans Affairs Park Min-sik conveyed to the party their intention to run in the general election next April.
In particular, Minister Won Hee-ryong’s side said, “If I run, I will run against someone of high rank in the Democratic Party,” and also hinted at the possibility of running in Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myeong’s constituency.
The rumor that Han Dong-hoon can run for Minister of Justice, as he has significantly increased contact with the public, is also gaining strength.
Last week, he visited Daegu and said, “The general election is important in the lives of the people,” and “I have respected the citizens of Daegu,” and there were speculations that he was actually starting his career as a politician, which he denied.

“You can just make guesses and observations, such as reporting. I have a lot of important things to do, and I will just say that I will work hard on important things.”
However, even within the People Power Party, the prevailing interpretation is that “in terms of central expansion, freshness, and appeal to the metropolitan area, we have no choice but to appoint a minister,” and “there will be no choice but to run as early as December.”
“Welcome. First of all, we need to help people like that. People who are competitive. Minister Han is very fresh and good.”
Former People Power Party leader Lee Jun-seok, who hinted at the creation of a new party in late December, began a full-fledged rally by gathering more than 40,000 supporters online.
In particular, they indicated the possibility of solidarity by making Minister Han Dong-hoon’s candidacy a fait accompli.

“If you add such a message in a way that is helpful to the party in terms of reform, I think there could come a day when Ha Tae-kyung, Lee Jun-seok, and Han Dong-hoon become comrades.”
In response to this, the leadership of the People Power Party began to keep a check by sending gestures to talented people recommended by the people, and even to non-Jae-myeong members of the Democratic Party.
“We will pitch a super big tent with everyone who is concerned about the country’s developmental future.”
As the ruling party’s progress in the general election is accelerating, the Democratic Party is also paying close attention to the impact that the candidacy of Minister Han Dong-hoon and Lee Jun-seok’s new party will have on the general election.
