[대한경제=오진주 기자] A ceremony to commemorate the World Cup victory will be held.

Convenience store CU announced on the 21st that it will hold a discount event for purchasing T1 collaboration products until the 30th to commemorate the Korean T1 team’s victory in the ‘2023 League of Legends (LoL) World Championship (Worlds Cup)’.

T1 is a League of Legends professional gaming team, and CU signed an agreement with T1 for online and offline joint marketing in July last year and launched 22 types of products, including convenience foods and snacks.

The products for this event include top-tier kimchi pork triangle gimbap, whole chicken leg burger, and bulgogi-flavored hot bar, all of which exceeded 5 million units in cumulative sales as of last month. If you purchase triangle gimbap and hamburger, you will receive a free HEYROO bottled water or get coffee. Hotbar can be purchased with One Plus One (1+1).

Meanwhile, sales at CU stores near Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul, where about 18,000 people flocked on the day of the World Cup finals, increased significantly. By product category, sales of mobile phone supplies (disposable batteries, etc.) increased 748.4% compared to the previous week. Cold weather items (320.6%), energy drinks (159.3%), refrigerated snacks (144.3%), and triangular gimbap (105.5%) were sold the most in that order.
