    By the middle of this month (November), exports had increased by 2.2% compared to a year ago.

    According to the Korea Customs Service, exports from November 1 to 20 were $33.79 billion, a 2.2% increase compared to the same period last year.

    The average daily export amount considering the number of operating days also increased by 2.2%.

    Monthly exports decreased from October of last year to September of this year compared to the same month of the previous year, but increased by 5.1% last month, turning positive ( ) for the first time in 13 months.

    By item, semiconductor exports increased by 2.4%.

    Semiconductor exports have been decreasing for 15 months on a monthly basis from August of last year to last month.

    As semiconductor exports showed a stable increase from early to mid-November, there is a greater possibility that it will turn positive this month.

    In addition, exports of passenger cars (20.1%), petroleum products (0.4%), and home appliances (25.6%) increased, while exports of steel products (-9.5%) and automobile parts (-3.6%) decreased.

    From the 1st to the 20th of this month, imports amounted to $35.26 billion, a 6.2% decrease from the same period last year.

    The trade balance recorded a deficit of $1.416 billion.

    As of the 20th of this year, the cumulative annual trade deficit was calculated to be $19.527 billion.
