Regarding the leadership talks, both the President’s Office and the Democratic Party decided to hold a second working meeting tomorrow.

First of all, it seems unlikely that a meeting will be held this week.

Ahead of the second working meeting, the Democratic Party pressured President Yoon to change the direction of government administration, specifically demanding that he no longer exercise his veto or rule by enforcement decree, and also correct the issue of press suppression.

The President’s Office and the Democratic Party have decided to hold a second working meeting tomorrow.

After the first working-level meeting yesterday, the President’s Office said, “We confirmed the Democratic Party’s agenda,” and that “there was a lot of homework.”

Ahead of the second working meeting, the Democratic Party began to publicly pressure the President’s Office.

Specific measures to restore people’s livelihood and change the tone of government administration were also mentioned.

It was said that the size of the 250,000 won per person subsidy claimed by the Democratic Party in order to restore people’s livelihood was negotiable, but it was assumed that a supplementary budget to support ordinary people and small business owners was inevitable.

The ruling party is opposing the supplementary budget.

He promised not to exercise his veto as a measure to change the tone of state administration, improved governance of enforcement decrees, and corrected issues of abuse of prosecutorial power and suppression of the media.

The Special Prosecutor Chae Sang-byeong Act is also expected to be on the agenda.

″I think that meeting the leader of the opposition party once is a big change, or as if I am giving a big gift or favor. Are you saying you will listen to the people’s demands because you don’t know what they are?”

The side that requested the meeting emphasized the position that since the president is in crisis due to the ruling party’s crushing defeat in the general election, meeting for the sake of itself without any real results is meaningless.

President Yoon Seok-yeol stated after the general election that the direction of the government’s policy is correct.

Regarding the Democratic Party’s proposal, the President’s Office also showed signs of discomfort, stating that changes in the tone of state administration were not up for discussion.

The gap between the two sides regarding the agenda of the talks is very wide.

First of all, the meeting between the leaders has become impossible this week.

It is not easy to predict whether we will be able to set a date for the leadership meeting at tomorrow’s working meeting, or how many more working meetings will be needed.
