KBS recently reported on the news that an executive at Seocho Police Station in Seoul was arrested on charges of accepting bribes in exchange for suppressing the investigation.

Prosecutors are expanding their investigation by seizing and searching the home of a former police officer in connection with this case.

This is an exclusive report by reporter Hee-yeon Lee.

The person pointed out as having paid the bribe was Mr. A, a close associate of Esmo Chairman Lee In-kwang, one of the main culprits of the ‘Lime Incident’.

The prosecution searched and seized the home of Mr. B, who serves as an outside director at Mr. A’s company.

Mr. B is a former police officer who served as the head of the investigation team at the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, and was sentenced to prison and dismissed for receiving 11 million won in exchange for a request to silence the investigation.

Mr. B, who was dismissed, was hired as an outside director at Mr. A’s company in March of last year, and the prosecution is looking into their relationship with Inspector Kwon, who has already been arrested.

Mr. B explained to KBS that he was not involved in the bribery case, saying, “Mr. A and Inspector Kwon have known each other for a long time.”

However, the number of targets of prosecution investigations related to bribery cases is increasing.

Inspector Kwon, who was previously arrested on charges of receiving bribes worth about 30 million won from Mr. A, was arrested today (25th).

Based on the data obtained, the prosecution is expanding its investigation to determine if there are additional police officers involved in corruption.
