This festival is hosted and supervised by the International Exchange Federation, and sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Cultural Contents Agency, Jeollabuk-do, and Jeonju-si.

The ‘IEF International e-Sports Festival’, which celebrated its 18th anniversary, is Korea’s representative amateur international e-sports event, which began in 2005 to expand cultural exchange between Korean and Chinese youths and is held alternately between Korea and China.

This year’s event will be held as an on-site event where players and spectators can gather in Jeonju for the first time in three years and enjoy it to their heart’s content.

151 youth amateur teams from 10 countries selected through preliminary rounds will participate.

The three official games, League of Legends (LoL), HEARTHSTONE, and FIFA ONLINE4, and the domestic game Eternal Return as a demonstration event will be held to determine the strongest amateurs.

In the case of the three official events, as they are games adopted as official events of the ‘2022 Hangzhou Asian Games’ to be held in September next year, it is expected that more exciting matches will unfold than ever with fierce competition and challenges from e-sports prospects representing each country. .

In addition, during this event, more than 100 people, including game industry-related university professors, researchers, and businessmen, attended and discussed in-depth discussions on economic cooperation plans for the development of the digital content industry and on-site inspection and cooperation plans for e-sports between Korea and China. An industry forum is also held.
