[데일리스포츠한국 차혜미 기자] 10 professional baseball teams are going abroad for spring camp in three years after breaking through Corona 19.

The 10 clubs are preparing for training after recently finalizing overseas spring camp schedules in preparation for the 2023 season. It is the first time in three years since the spring of 2020 that professional baseball teams have started overseas spring camp training before Corona 19 spread globally.

Although Corona 19 is still rampant, 10 professional baseball teams are preparing for the new season through overseas field training. While 8 out of 10 teams chose the United States as their first spring camp site, the rest are scheduled to quench for 2023 in Australia and Japan.

In the past two years, when they couldn’t go abroad, KBO teams set up spring camps in the southern part of the country, but because of the cold below freezing, they could not train outdoors at the same intensity as before. Because of this, there were many cases where the condition could not be fully improved even before the season, and after the season, players’ injuries occurred one after another.

Overseas battery training resumed after three years. Before the rise of Corona 19, it was a common sight for all clubs to go abroad to prepare for the season. This is because, unlike Korea, where cold weather strikes, Arizona and Florida in the U.S. and Okinawa in Japan are perfect for players to prepare for the season without worrying about the weather.

Six clubs are setting up camps in Arizona, USA. Kiwoom Heroes will depart on January 29 next year and start training at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick in Scottsdale, Arizona, USA. LG, which has been newly led by Yeom Kyung-yeop, will leave Korea on January 30th and set up a campground at the San Francisco Giants Baseball Complex in Scottsdale, Arizona, USA, to conduct training.

On January 28, kt wiz, who will board a flight to the United States, will conduct training at the Kino Sports Complex in Tucson, Arizona. kt coach Lee Kang-chul also serves as the World Baseball Classic (WBC) Korean national team coach, and the WBC national team players will gather here in mid-February to train the national team separately. The KIA Tigers also start training at the same place as kt, then move to Okinawa, Japan, and set up a second camp.

The NC Dinos will be at Reid Park and Annex Fields in Tucson, Arizona, USA, and the Hanwha Eagles will depart for Mesa, Arizona, USA on January 29, 2020, and will have their first training session at Bellbank Park until February 24, followed by their second training session in Okinawa, Japan. training is planned.

This season’s unified champion, SSG Landers, will train at the Jackie Robinson Training Complex in Vero Beach, Florida, USA. It is scheduled to depart on January 30th and return on February 26th. SSG had a spring camp training at that location during the former SK Wyverns days.

The Lotte Giants train in Guam, USA from February 1st to 19th, and then conduct the 2nd and 3rd training sessions in Ishigaki and Okinawa, Japan. Samsung unpacks again at the Akama Stadium in Onna Village, Okinawa, Japan, where they had their finishing camp. He plans to leave Korea on January 30th and sweat at the training ground until his return on March 12th.

The Doosan Bears, led by new head coach Lee Seung-yeop, are the only ones to choose Sydney, Australia as their spring camp site. Even so, Doosan often chose Australia. Although there is nothing to do with domestic teams, Sydney is also a popular training ground for Australian and NPB teams. Doosan plans to hold both field training and practice matches in Australia.
