‘Korean soccer ace’ Son Heung-min (31, Tottenham) from Chuncheon joined Tottenham and ranked 5th in Tottenham’s history as the best contract in British media.
On the 19th (Korean time), British media ‘442’ announced the 36 ‘Tottenham Hotspur’s best contracts ever’. In this ranking, Son Heung-min’s transfer to Tottenham ranked as high as 5th. The media said, “In 2015, Tottenham paid 22 million pounds (about 35.5 billion won) to Leverkusen and signed Son Heung-min. Although he wanted to leave Tottenham after a difficult first season, Son Heung-min eventually stayed and became the most popular player in the club’s history. He was a big part of Tottenham’s success under coach Mauricio Pochettino, and showed fantastic chemistry with Harry Kane (Bayern Munich). “Son Heung-min scored more than 150 goals at Tottenham,” he explained.
As the media explained, Son Heung-min is already a Tottenham legend. He has scored 153 goals and provided 77 assists in all competitions for Tottenham alone. Although he did not win a trophy for Tottenham, he is currently playing a very active role as Tottenham’s captain and ace.
If you look at the players ranked below Son Heung-min, you can gauge how great Son Heung-min’s ranking is. Robbie Keane (33rd) and Dimitar Berbatov (34th), who were powerful as Tottenham’s top two in the mid-to-late 2000s, are far below Son Heung-min, and the signing of 2018 Ballon d’Or winner Luka Modric (Real Madrid) is also ranked 29th. It stopped. Jürgen Klinsmann, coach of the Korean national soccer team, ranked 22nd.
Christian Eriksen (Manchester United, 18th place) and Dele Alli (Everton, 21st place), who formed the ‘DESK line’ with Son Heung-min and Kane and led Tottenham to the Champions League final in 2019, were also under Son Heung-min. Gareth Bale, one of the best players in Tottenham history and who worked with Son Heung-min for one season, ranked 8th. 1st to 4th place are Danny Blanchflower, Dave Mackay, Jimmy Greaves, and Bobby Smith, all legends who played in the 1950s and 1960s. In other words, Son Heung-min once again proved that he is a living legend by ranking highest among active players on this list.
