In the final qualifying round for the Paris Olympics, our national team, led by coach Hwang Seon-hong, lost to coach Shin Tae-yong’s Indonesia in the quarterfinals in a penalty shootout.

Men’s soccer, which had aimed to advance to the Olympic finals for the 10th consecutive time, suffered a setback in failing to advance to the Olympic finals for the first time in 40 years.
