The 2024 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League is on the verge of reaching 2 million spectators.

The 2024 KBO League has a cumulative attendance of 1,943,328 spectators for 143 games until the 26th, leaving 56,672 spectators to reach 2 million spectators. After the KBO announcement, the Jamsil LG Twins-KIA Tigers game being held at 2 PM was once again sold out. If only 32,922 people attend the remaining four games, the number of spectators will exceed 2 million.

The 2024 KBO League, which exceeded 1 million spectators with 70 games, the fastest pace since the 10-team system was established on the 9th (Tuesday), is expected to exceed 2 million spectators on the 27th.

This is the second fastest trend in history, following the 2012 season when 148 games have passed since the opening and only 78 games have reached 1 million spectators. Like the achievement of 1 million spectators, it is highly likely that 2 million spectators will be achieved at the fastest rate since the 10-team system.

By club, Doosan ranks first in total attendance with a cumulative attendance of 257,091. This was followed by LG with 256,665, SSG with 252,009, and Lotte with 215,258, with the four teams exceeding a total of 200,000 spectators.

In terms of average audience, Doosan ranked first with 17,139, LG ranked second with 17,111, KIA ranked third with 15,865, and Lotte ranked fourth with 15,376, with a total of 4 teams. The average attendance is over 15,000.

In terms of growth rate compared to the same period last year, KIA, which ranked first in the team rankings, showed the highest increase with an 89% increase in spectators. Hanwha ranked second with a 51% increase, and recorded consecutive sellouts in 13 games held at home in the 2024 season from the last home game of the 2023 season, setting a new KBO League home game sellout record (13 games) on the 26th. The 2024 KBO League has continued to be a steady success since its opening, with a total of 37 sold-out games for the season.
