Demand for Google’s first foldable smartphone, the Pixel Fold, seems to be higher than expected. The ‘Pixel Fold’ is currently on pre-order ahead of its official release on June 27, but it is known that the US online store has already run out of stock.
According to reports from Sammobile, an overseas media outlet, the Pixel Fold “Add to Cart” button is grayed out in the Google online store in the US, and orders cannot be placed until Google restocks it.
The initial volume of the Pixel Fold has not yet been identified, but there is a possibility that the volume was conservatively set as it is the first foldable phone to be released. However, the fact that even a small quantity is sold out is interpreted as evidence that the Pixel Fold is attracting consumers’ attention.
Meanwhile, the Pixel Fold features a 7.6-inch main foldable OLED display and a 5.8-inch OLED cover display. The internal display offers a 6:5 aspect ratio, 2208×1840 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 1450 nits maximum brightness, while the cover display supports 1080×2092 resolution, 17.4:9 aspect ratio, 120Hz refresh rate, and 1550 nits maximum brightness.
Inside, it comes with a Tensor G2 processor with a Titan M2 secure processor, 12GB LPDDR5 RAM, 256GB or 512GB UFS 3.1 storage, and a 4,821mAh battery supports 30W fast charging. However, chargers are not provided.
On the back, a triple camera consisting of a 48MP main camera + 10.8MP ultra-wide camera + 10.8MP telephoto camera is provided, and a 9.5MP camera is provided on the cover display and an 8MP camera is provided on the internal display. The telephoto camera supports up to 20x Super Res Zoom function and 5x optical zoom. The fingerprint sensor is built into the power button on the side and supports IPX8 water resistance.
The price of the Pixel Fold is $1,799 (about 2.57 million won).
