Typhoon Hinnamno, the 11th typhoon, began to move northward off the southeast coast of Taiwan. The route of Hinnamno is predicted to pass through the sea off Busan as it gets closer to Korea.

Typhoon Hinnamno started moving northward at 3 am on the 2nd, passing 580 km southeast of Taipei, Taiwan at a speed of 4 km per hour.

Hinnamno, which is currently a ‘very strong typhoon’, is expected to transform into a ‘super strong typhoon’ as it passes through the East China Sea, where the sea surface temperature is high. Typhoons have four levels of intensity: medium, strong, very strong, and super strong.

The Korea Meteorological Administration announced that the predicted route of Typhoon Hinnamno would be closer to the Korean Peninsula and pass through the sea off Busan.

According to the 10 a.m. forecast from the Korea Meteorological Administration, Hinnamno is expected to pass 500 km south-southwest of Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do at 9:00 a.m. on the 5th at a ‘very strong’ state.

Then, at 9 am on the 6th, the strength of the river will be 90 km southwest of Busan. After that, at 9 am on the 7th, it is expected to disappear as a typhoon as it weakens into a temperate cyclone in the sea 430 km southwest of Sapporo, Japan.

An official from the Korea Meteorological Administration said, “Because the force of a typhoon is so strong, it will have a direct or indirect impact across the country.”

Meanwhile, as of 8 am on the 2nd, the rain falling on Jeju and the southern coast will continue until the 4th, Sunday.

Currently, it is raining at a rate of 10 to 20 mm per hour in the southeastern part of Jeju. It will rain heavily on Jeju, South Jeolla Province, and Gyeongnam coast until the 4th due to the effect of the rain cloud belt formed by the meeting of the cold, dry air coming down from the northern high pressure and warm water vapor coming from the edge of the North Pacific high pressure off the southern coast of Japan.

As the east wind blows due to the high pressure from the north, it will rain between the morning and evening of the 2nd in Yeongdong, Gangwon and the east coast of Gyeongbuk. The rain will gradually increase on Saturday, 3rd, and it is expected to rain occasionally in the southern region between dawn and daytime, in the southern part of Chungcheong from morning to noon, and in the middle of Yeongdong, Gangwon, southern Yeongdong, Gangwon, and the east coast of Gyeongsang from day to night.

On Sunday, the 4th, it will rain all over the country. Rain that started in the metropolitan area, Yeongseo, Gangwon, and Chungcheong at dawn is expected to expand to most areas in the morning.

Expected precipitation for 2-3 days is Jeju 100~200mm (300mm or more in many places), South Jeolla Province and Gyeongnam Coast 50~100mm, Southern Gyeongbuk, Jeonnam (excluding southern coast), Gyeongnam Inland 10~60mm, Gangwon Yeongdong/Gyeongbuk Northern, Southern Chungcheong and Jeonbuk are 5 to 30 mm.
