Gimpo City announced on the 25th that it held an interim report on the research service for the ‘Book City Gimpo Creation Project for selection of the 2025 Korea Reading Competition (hereinafter referred to as the Reading Competition) contest.

Analysis of local government cases ▲Discussed strategies that Gimpo City should implement in the future.
Gimpo City is currently conducting a campaign to collect more than 49,500 signatures both online (QR code) and offline to express the wishes of Gimpo citizens to be selected for the Reading Contest.
In addition, in order to select Gimpo as a Book City, we will spread citizen consensus by promoting the need to select a Book City that reflects citizens’ perspectives, and recruit and organize ‘Book City Supporters’ among Gimpo citizens in May to discover creative citizen ideas. and plan to operate it.
An official from the city library said, “The ‘Korea Reading Festival’ is a project promoted by Gimpo citizens together, and we ask for your active participation in various activities to fill the public’s aspirations with the citizens’ aspirations.” He added, “Gimpo City will start by hosting the 2025 Korea Reading Festival this year. “We will help it grow into a city with a high-quality reading culture,” he said.
Gimpo City said, “Through this interim report, we have visualized the basic concept and strategy for creating Gimpo, a city of books,” and added, “We will prepare a detailed roadmap through the final report in the future.”
