brunch magazine [일상을 여행으로 만드는 그림]From “Sounds heard when drawing”…

Noise disappears when drawing. When you draw outdoors, the countless noises and noises disappear and you can focus on the drawing. The same goes for drawing in places like cafes. The sounds of people chattering suddenly become inaudible. But the moment you focus on one sound, you can hear it more clearly.

Publishing my paintings – Personal publishing process

There are many things that hinder me when creating a book. All those distractions can be replaced with one word. That word is “laziness.”

“Laziness” is what hinders me not only when creating a book, but at every crossroads in life. Funnily enough, I “Laziness “I am an admirer.” As someone who does not read books, I was tempted by the title alone. It was almost like, “I almost lived too hard.” But there’s something I realized while writing the book. It’s that you can’t live lazy forever. How about 70% laziness and 30% hard work? Even 30% hard work is difficult for me because I’m lazy.

That’s right. As this is the 14th series, this article is currently taking a break. I think sample orders will have been placed by the time this article is published. I’m going to take some time to relax until the sample book comes out. (What was the leisure time? It was laziness…)

Final Sample Book Specification

Cover: Gmund color mat 300g (86)

Inner paper: 120g vellum paper, 136 pages white

They said they were printing 2 copies of the sample, but since it was a small quantity, I would have to purchase the colored cover paper myself and deliver it. It is said that when printing in large quantities (about 50 copies) later, the printer even buys the cover. Covers can be easily purchased from online stores.

In the meantime, the process of making a book, taking pictures with a smartphone camera, converting them to vector format, editing them with an iPad, finding and negotiating with a printing company, editing and modifying them to enable printing… etc. was a series of very cumbersome activities. .

I didn’t think of laziness when it came to drawing because it was something I loved to do, but when it came to making books, I thought I was going crazy because I wanted to be lazy. I didn’t know that even though it was my favorite painting, there was a hidden side that was so annoying and unpleasant. Even if you do something you like, the challenge of overcoming laziness remains.

I hope I can show you a sample book in person in the next series of articles. I am very curious and looking forward to how the physical book will turn out. If crowdfunding fails, this sample could be the last real product, so it feels very precious.
