EVS37 is the world’s largest electric vehicle academic conference and exhibition hosted by the World Electric Vehicle Association (WEVA) and the Electric Vehicle Association of Asia Pacific (EVAAP) and hosted by the Korea Society of Automotive Engineers (KSAE). It is called the Electric Vehicle Olympics, with over 1,500 electric vehicle experts from over 60 countries around the world and mobility officials from over 200 global companies attending. It’s been 9 years since it was held in Korea.

At this EVS37, LG’s four affiliates, including LG Energy Solutions, LG Electronics, LG Display, and LG Innotek, will jointly operate an exhibition hall under the theme of ‘A Visionary Story of Future Mobility.’

LG has △’battery’, the core of electric vehicles, △’powertrain system’ that converts electrical energy into kinetic energy to move the wheels, △’vehicle camera’ and ‘LiDAR’, key components for autonomous driving, and △in-vehicle information. It allows users to see and experience the future mobility products and technologies of affiliates at a glance, including the ‘display’ provided, the ‘vehicle content platform’ that provides a differentiated experience, and the P-OLED-based ‘infotainment system’ mounted on premium electric vehicles.

In addition, LG Science Park CEO Park Il-pyeong participated as a keynote speaker at EVS37 and gave a presentation on the topic ‘Delivering the Future of Mobility’, and LG researchers presented ‘Electric Vehicle Battery Performance Deterioration and Failure Diagnosis Analysis’ and ‘Software Focused’ at the academic conference. LG’s R&D capabilities are promoted by sharing research results under topics such as ‘Major technologies for vehicles (SDV, Software Defined Vehicle)’, ‘In-vehicle recognition technology that improves SDV user experience’, and ‘Entertainment platform for future mobility’.

An LG official said, “Participating in this exhibition is an opportunity for LG affiliates engaged in the battery and electronics business to show LG’s status in the electric vehicle field,” and added, “We will continue to create business synergy by combining capabilities within the group.” .

Based on the specialized technological capabilities of each affiliate, LG is providing a variety of electronic products and solutions in the area of eco-friendly future mobility, including electric vehicles, and is seeking to expand the electric vehicle ecosystem. As a result, LG is expanding its influence in the automobile industry by being recognized for its technology and quality competitiveness by major global automakers and being selected as the ‘Best Supplier’.

At this exhibition, LG Energy Solutions will display pouch-type batteries and cylindrical batteries that can be customized according to customer needs, as well as ‘Cell to Pack’ technology that is lighter, safer, and more energy efficient, and electric vehicle battery performance and lifespan. We are introducing the ‘B-Lifecare’ service that optimizes your health.

LG Electronics has an infotainment system for premium electric vehicles that integrates the three screens of the instrument panel, central information display (CID), and passenger display into one, allowing you to enjoy a variety of content such as high-definition video, games, and music that you enjoy on your cell phone or TV in your car. Introducing the automotive content platform (ACP, Automotive Content Platform) developed for this purpose.

LG Magna, a joint venture, has a ‘High Speed Hairpin Motor’ that can produce an output of 250 kW (kilowatts) using a high voltage of 800 V (volts) and a ‘High Speed Hairpin Motor’ that can control the motor by receiving energy from a battery. The actual driving system of the ‘800V SiC Inverter’ and the ‘800V IPGM’, an integrated product of motor, inverter, and gearbox, will be revealed to the general public for the first time.

LG Display is developing high-definition P-OLED (Plastic-OLED), which can implement free-form designs, ‘ATO (Advanced Thin OLED)’, which has price competitiveness based on tandem OLED technology, ‘Glasses-free 3D instrument panel’, and ‘Glasses-free 3D instrument panel’. LTPS (low-temperature polycrystalline silicon) LCD products with viewing angle control technology (SPM, Switchable Privacy Mode) will be exhibited.

LG Innotek produces sensing solutions such as ‘vehicle camera’ and ‘LiDAR’, which are major components related to autonomous driving and electric vehicles, automotive communication solutions such as ‘5G-V2X communication module’ to implement connected cars, and high value-added vehicle lighting module ‘Neck’. We introduce lighting solutions such as ‘Nexlide’ and power solutions such as ‘Wireless BMS’.
