(Sejong = Yonhap Infomax) Reporter Hyoji Lee = KEPCO announced on the 24th that it held the ‘Energy Ecosystem Cooperation Declaration Ceremony and Discussion’ at the Pangyo Startup Campus in Gyeonggi-do, with representatives of about 200 innovative companies in attendance.
This event was prepared to pledge cooperation in creating an energy ecosystem in the era of great energy transition, share support policies for innovative companies, and declare the will to create new growth engines.
KEPCO plans to establish an ‘Energy Tech Hub’, a platform that connects the government, industry, and startups, and support promising companies to maximize the value of cooperative projects, while leading the innovation and growth of the energy ecosystem and revitalizing the cooperative network.
KEPCO President Kim Dong-cheol said, “We will do our best to produce global unicorn companies in the energy sector through generous investment and support for small and medium-sized ventures and startups.”
In the future, KEPCO plans to focus its capabilities on developing new energy technologies based on carbon-neutral deep tech to secure leadership in new global energy businesses and create a self-sustaining startup ecosystem by activating cooperation networks between industry, academia, research institutes, and government.
