Broadcaster Kim Je-dong is attending the event commemorating the first anniversary of Pyeongsan Bookstore, where former President Moon Jae-in works as a bookstore manager.

Pyeongsan Bookstore announced on Instagram on the 25th, “We will be holding a ‘meeting with author Kim Je-dong’ in the yard of Pyeongsan Village Hall at 6 p.m. on the 27th.” Previously, Pyeongsan Bookstore announced that it would be recruiting 240 people for a meeting with Kim Je-dong for subscribers to the Pyeongsan Bookstore Book Club.

In addition, Pyeongsan Bookstore will hold a variety of events, starting with ‘World Book Day’ on the 23rd and continuing until the 28th, such as raffle gift giveaways when purchasing books, Pyeongsan Moments, Pyeongsan Bookstore written with handwritten letters, and the Buyer’s King gift.

On the 20th of last month, Kim Je-dong published an essay titled ‘That’s what I said.’ 2016 bestseller ‘Do you ever have times like that?’ This is an essay published eight years later. While the previous work dealt with social issues, this essay mainly depicts the daily lives of individuals.

At the publication press conference held at the Franciscan Education Center in Jeong-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul, Kim Je-dong said, “Eight years ago, my gaze was directed outward. “I was thinking about how to live with people,” he said. “This time, my gaze went a little inward. Time passed, and I thought about how I would live. I didn’t have time to heal others. “You will live well on your own,” he said.

Kim Je-dong, who often made social remarks, said, “Some people keep cheering me on when they meet me. “There were people who said, ‘Why aren’t you on TV these days?’ or ‘I know, cheer up,’” he said. “Some people just glared at me, and there were also people who cursed at me while I was eating. “At some point, I am living a life as if I am always running for general elections.”

Kim Je-dong said, “I don’t even know what social problems are anymore,” and “I wonder if the way I did it would have any meaning if that became a barrier to meeting people.” He said, “I want to live without noise and avoid it. “It’s scary, I’m scared,” he said. “The most important issue for me right now is meeting the children and talking about history with the people I met at Gyeongbokgung Palace.” Kim Je-dong is leading the ‘Gyeongbokgung Palace History Tour’ as a lecturer.

Kim Je-dong said, “What I’m best at is making people laugh. I really like making people laugh, but there have been too many things that got in the way of doing that. It’s a result of my actions, but if that’s the case, let’s reduce those parts. Let’s do something funny that I really enjoy. “I want to do something that makes people laugh,” he said.
