[스포츠서울 | 김효원 기자] Recently, singer and broadcaster Lee Hyo-ri has garnered attention by revealing a painting she drew herself, and an exhibition has been prepared to show that her painting talent runs in her family, attracting attention.

Lee Hyo-ri’s older sister, Western painter Lee Ae-ri (53), will hold a two-person exhibition with artist Jang Jun-won at the Shinsang Gallery in Insa-dong, Seoul from May 15th to 21st. Two artists, who were seniors and juniors at Sungkyunkwan University in Seoul and moved to Jeju to pursue their respective works, are holding a long-awaited exhibition in Seoul, raising expectations. The scenery of Jeju that I encountered while living in Jeju was depicted in a calm painting style.

Artist Lee Ae-ri painted the natural scenery commonly encountered in Jeju with a transparent and clear touch, like a watercolor painting.

Artist Jang Jun-won drew a dreamy landscape of whales flying against the background of Bomnal Cafe, a famous cafe in Jeju.

As it became known that Lee Hyo-ri’s older sister is a full-time artist, the curiosity about Lee Hyo-ri’s recent painting skills, which she drew and revealed herself, is being answered to some extent. As her biological sister is a painter, it is believed that Hyori Lee also likely inherited her talent for painting from her parents.
