Is it real or an act?… Veteran crew members are ’embarrassed’ by Kian84’s smoking during SNL broadcast

Kian 84, who appeared in season 5 of ‘SNL Korea’, actually smoked during a broadcast and made the crew black out.

Kian84 appeared as a host on Season 5 of Coupang Play’s comedy show ‘SNL Korea’, which was released on the 27th. On this day, Kian84 appeared as 41-year-old cartoonist Kim Hee-min in the ‘I Love You Studio’ corner, a couple matching concept. The corner is a parody of MBC’s ‘To the Studio of Love’, which aired in the 1990s.

Kian84 said, “We are serializing ‘Fashion King’ in the magazine Treasure Island. “I’m older, so I really have to go get married this time,” he said. “My mother is also worried. “I don’t think it will go well today,” he said, putting a cigarette in his mouth and lighting a fire.

In response, Kwon Hyuk-soo and Lee Su-ji, who were watching as MCs, and Jeong Sang-hoon, who appeared as a performer, hurriedly approached Kian 84 and snatched his cigarette away, showing embarrassed reactions such as “What are you doing?” and “He really lit the fire.”

In response, Kian84 explained, “It’s a broadcast from the 90s.” It is interpreted that the setting was based on the fact that performers were allowed to smoke in past broadcasts.

Afterwards, Kian84 continued to put a cigarette in his mouth, and each time the crew actively tried to stop him, as if they were worried that he would actually light a cigarette, making him laugh.

However, some say that smoking during a live broadcast is excessive, even if it is a setting. According to Article 28 (soundness) of the Broadcasting Review Regulations, broadcasts must be careful in their expressions when dealing with content such as smoking, drinking, gambling, extravagance, and waste, so as not to glorify or promote them.
