Gyeongbuk Provincial Assemblyman Park Seung-jik takes the lead in creating a community safety net that transcends borders!

(Daily Daegu-Gyeongbuk News = Reporter Hwang Ji-hyeon) Assemblyman Park Seung-jik (Gyeongju 4, People Power Party), a member of the Construction and Fire Protection Committee of the Gyeongsangbuk-do Provincial Council, proposed the ‘Ordinance on Fire Safety Support for Multicultural Residents of Gyeongsangbuk-do’ at the 346th Gyeongsangbuk-do Provincial Council extraordinary session in April. It passed the Construction and Fire Protection Committee review on the 23rd.

This ordinance was proposed to protect the lives and property of residents in Gyeongsangbuk-do by strengthening fire safety and responding quickly to safety accidents through fire safety for multicultural residents in Gyeongsangbuk-do.

The main contents stipulate ▲establishment and implementation of support plans for systematic fire safety support for multicultural residents, ▲various fire safety support projects for multicultural residents, ▲establishment of a department dedicated to fire safety support for multicultural residents, and matters related to the deployment of professional personnel.

Representative Park Seung-jik said, “As much effort has been made recently in attracting foreigners, we must ensure that multicultural residents are not excluded and can lead safe lives as local community residents.” He added, “Multicultural residents who are vulnerable to language and cultural differences will continue to receive fire safety support through fire safety support.” “We have established a legal basis so that we can receive systematic education and support.”

This ordinance is scheduled to be finalized and promulgated at the plenary session in May.
