Professors at Seoul National University School of Medicine will suspend treatment of general patients for 30 days.

The Emergency Response Committee of the Faculty Council of Seoul National University College of Medicine and Seoul National University Hospital said, “We will implement a complete suspension of individual treatment for general patients, excluding emergency and severe hospitalized patients, for one day on the 30th.”

On the morning of the 24th, the Emergency Committee of the Faculty Association of Seoul National University College of Medicine and Seoul National University Hospital held a press conference at the Seoul National University College of Medicine Convergence Hall in Jongno-gu, Seoul and said, “We will discuss the suspension of periodic treatment to prevent burnout at the Emergency Committee again at a later date.”

At the same time, he emphasized, “We will take the lead and verify the estimate of the number of doctors in a scientific and objective way,” and added, “We will directly contest research papers. Researchers who wish to participate are requested to suggest the number of doctors desired by the public through scientific research.”

In addition, he urged the government to “suspend the policy until numbers come out through scientific research.”

Previously, professors at Seoul National University submitted their resignations starting on the 25th of last month.
