On April 5, Australia’s ‘McPherson Shiraz’ won the grand prize in the red wine new continent category at the ‘2024 Korea Liquor Awards’ hosted by Chosun Biz.

MacPherson Shiraz has a deep purple color and features rich aromas of ripe black cherries and blueberries. It is also a medium-bodied wine with hints of plum and spice, boasting a rich taste and impressive finish.

MacPherson Winery is located in Victoria, southern Australia, and is highly regarded for its quality, being selected as a 4-star winery every year by Australia’s best wine critic, James Halliday.

Winning this year’s Korea Liquor Awards was a recognition of McPherson Winery’s quality and innovative approach.

Awards include the 2020 Wine Orbit NZ by Sam Kim 91/100 score & 4.5 star award, the 2020 Riverina Wine Show gold medal winner, and the 2022 Costco Australia & New Zealand Wine Road Show.

Wine importer Mavin Korea Co., Ltd. said, “We are sincerely grateful for this award as it serves as an opportunity to promote the excellent quality and recognition of Australian wine to Korean consumers.”
