Han Dong-hoon rejected the ‘Luncheon Offer’… “Meeting with close associates last week”

It is known that Han Dong-hoon, former chairman of the People Power Emergency Response Committee, who resigned after taking responsibility for the crushing defeat in the general election, had a dinner meeting with former emergency committee members last week.

According to multiple attendees, former Chairman Han shared his thoughts while having dinner with former emergency committee members somewhere in the city last week.

At this meeting, former Chairman Han mentioned the time when he was demoted during the previous administration and reportedly said, “I am used to this kind of time, and I will make full use of this time to build my skills.”

The attendees at the dinner are said to have consoled themselves not to be too discouraged, saying, “The number of seats is quite disappointing, but the vote percentage is not disappointing,” and “Thanks to former Chairman Han, we did well in the metropolitan area.”

Regarding former Chairman Han’s health, one attendee said, “He looked very exhausted.”

Previously, former Chairman Han was offered a lunch meeting with President Yoon Seok-yeol through the President’s Chief of Staff on the 19th, but he declined, saying it would be difficult to attend due to health reasons.

The uncomfortable feelings of pro-Yoon Seok faction members toward former Chairman Han are gradually being expressed publicly.

In a KBS radio interview, prominent pro-Yun lawmaker Kwon Young-se directly criticized former Chairman Han and his close associate, former emergency committee member Kim Kyung-yul, saying it was a mistake to refuse the president’s luncheon.

Rep. Hong Seok-jun also said on BBS radio, “It is a bit disappointing that Chairman Han’s absence could lead to misunderstandings or speculation.”

However, President-elect Kang Seung-gyu, a former senior civil society official in the President’s Office, cautioned against the spread of the so-called Yoon Han conflict theory, saying on YTN radio, “It may have been premature to go to the President and say something when we haven’t even finished sorting ourselves out.”

However, as it has become known that former Chairman Han, who declined President Yoon’s luncheon for health reasons, had previously had a dinner meeting with former emergency committee members, the conflict rumors with Yoon Han are expected to continue for the time being.
