(Daily Daegu Gyeongbuk News = Reporter Kim Hyeong-man) Gyeongbuk Association (Chairman Choo Seon-hee) visited the Gyeongbuk Provincial Office on April 24 and delivered 10 million won in donations to the Gyeongsangbuk-do Community Chest of Korea to overcome low birth rates.

The money donated on this day will be used for various projects to overcome low birth rates and encourage childbirth, which Gyeongbuk Province is focusing on.

The Gyeongbuk Association has a special meaning as Gyeongsangbuk-do declared war on low birth rate last February and members voluntarily participated in fundraising to participate in the ‘Donation movement of more than 10,000 won with all citizens’, a movement to overcome low birth rate.

Choo Seon-hee, president of the Gyeongbuk Association, said, “As the issue of low birth rates is a serious problem that threatens the survival of the country, I think it is very meaningful that Gyeongbuk Province took the lead in declaring war.” He added, “The earnest will of our members is to overcome low birth rates.” “I hope this will be of some help,” he said.

Gyeongsangbuk-do Governor Lee Cheol-woo said, “Thank you for taking an interest in the problem of overcoming low birth rates, which depends on the future of the region, and participating in the fund-raising campaign,” and asked, “Please continue to participate in creating a Gyeongsangbuk-do where everyone lives well with much interest and encouragement.” .

Meanwhile, Gyeongbuk Association is a representative women’s organization in Gyeongbuk, established in 1984. It supports the promotion of women’s welfare and activities of women’s organizations, and has been consistently practicing sharing every year for the local community, such as visiting facilities for the underprivileged and donating funds to the Red Cross and community chests.

In particular, in 2023, 380 sets of non-rational food sets (worth 20 million won) for disaster victims were produced and donated to the Gyeongsangbuk-do branch of the Korean Red Cross.
